Stage 1 : Caen
▶︎ Visit Caen, certified “Town of Art and History”, its Château, its Musée des Beaux-Arts and its numerous exhibitions including Le spectacle de la marchandise. Then enter the worlds of Sean Scully (Eglise Saint-Nicolas), Lily van der Stokker (FRAC
Normandie) and Thomas Pausz (Abbaye aux Dames).
Stage 2 : Cherbourg-en-Cotentin
▶︎Get on the train to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin to stroll through its lanes and discover the scenes where Demy’s Les Parapluies de Cherbourg was shot, and celebrate the film’s 60th anniversary. Make the most of the chance to see Daniel Buren’s exhibition and the Château des Ravalet to discover contemporary works by Caroline Bachamann, Blair Thurman, among many others. This is also an opportunity to admire at the Point du Jour the exhibition about colour in photography.
Stage 3 :From Fermanville to Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue
▶︎By bus or bike, head to Fermanville to take in Guillaume Aubry’s work: Theatrum Mundi. Then go along the coastline to La Tour Vauban de l’île Tatihou and the port of Saint-Vaast-La Hougue with its lighthouse. In August, join the spectators of a choreographic creation for 40 amateurs on the Île Tatihou.
Stage 4 : Ecausseville à Valognes
▶︎ Now go to Ecausseville to fly over Flora Moscovici’s monumental painting at the Hangar à Dirigeables. Then see the 17th-century town houses in Valognes, nicknamed “the little Norman Versailles”.

▶︎Take the bus southward to explore the coast and the seaside resort Barneville-Carteret. This is an opportunity to take the ferry to Jersey, one of the magnificent Channel Islands or else gaze at the Mont-Saint-Michel.
