The Impressionnism Collection

Normandie Impressionniste has joined with La Villette to create a collection of impressionist works bringing together digitalised masterpieces coming from cultural institutions as well as regional and international museums. This art gallery is a groundbreaking cultural proposition to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Impressionism.

Created thanks to a collaboration between French regional, national and American bodies, this digital collection includes 150 works, thus favouring access for a broad public to the collections of public and international institutions.

This collection will be accessible from all the Micro-Folies in France and abroad.

Micro-Folie is a cultural proximity project under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and coordinated by La Villette in association with 12 founding national institutions: the Centre Pompidou, the Château de Versailles, the Cité de la musique – Philharmonie de Paris, the Festival of Avignon, the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Musée du Louvre, the Musée National Picasso-Paris, the Musée d’Orsay, the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, l’Opéra National de Paris, la Réunion des Musées Nationaux – Grand Palais and Universcience.

A Micro-Folie is a modulable space providing user-friendly access to works from the greatest national collections thanks to a Digital Museum, the heart of the scheme, which presents over 3,200 digitalised works, from a network of 205 national, regional or international cultural partners. A Micro-Folie also offers activities that complement the Digital Museum, such as a FabLab, a  Virtual Reality space, a stage, a Café Folie (café, book library, toy library)... It has been conceived as an accessible cultural structure, which is open to all to support and make visible local initiatives.
