David Hockney: Normandism

Portraits et paysages

03.22 — 09.22

Print
This is a unique event! David Hockney, the iconic British pop artist, is presenting new canvases painted in his colourful, adoptive Normandy. This exhibition, conceived as a dialogue with the permanent collections of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, presents around thirty recent pieces by this English painter who has lived in Normandy since 2019, which re-examine the work of Monet, Sisley and Pissarro. Portraits and landscapes painted on canvas, or made on an iPad, make up this exceptional show with a refreshing impressionist vibe.

Curatorship:

Florence Calame‑Levert, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen

This project is also supported by the British Council as part of the UK/France 2024 Spotlight on Culture program Imagine Together.
